Betty Cox (nee Buckley), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the age of 91. Betty was born on March 8, 1930, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, to Murray and Mabel Buckley. Beloved wife of the late James N. Cox. Devoted mother of Martha (Dave) Spotts, Susan (the late John) Struttman, Christy Smith, and Laura (Mike) Potts; loving grandmother of Sara (Brian) Kornberger, Matthew (Meghan) Struttman, Lindsey (Josh) Abel, Kelsey (Mark) Ritchie, Elizabeth (Justin) Richmond, Hannah Spotts, Brian (Jen) Potts, and Christopher (Julie) Potts; treasured great-grandmother of Addilynn, Deacon, Gracelynn Kornberger, Arane and Verity Richmond, Riley Potts, Kate Struttman, Samuel, Elijah, and Emilia Abel; dear sister of Judy Briggs, the late Stuart Buckley, the late Harold Buckley, and the late John Buckley. Betty enjoyed politics and history and was a member of the St. Charles County Democratic Committee. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was in numerous bridge groups. Betty also spent some time as a Girl Scout leader, gardening, embroidering, baking cookies, sending greeting cards, and going to Lake of the Ozarks. She loved entertaining and getting ready for all things holiday, especially Christmas and Easter. More than anything, Betty loved spending time with her family and friends, and having more great grandchildren than the Queen. Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
