Betty J. Bankston

July 25, 1935 — February 4, 2011

Bankston, Betty, of St. Peters, Missouri, 75, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in her home on February 4, 2011. She was born on July 25, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Edwin and Velma Daniel. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul M. Farris Sr., whom she married on April 17, 1954. Mrs. Bankston was co-owner of B&T Auto Repair in St. Peters, MO for 31 years. Prior to that, she loved her job as a Fort Zumwalt School Bus Driver. In addition, she was previously the director of the youth department at Cave Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thomas F. Bankston III; her three children, Velma 'Farris' Godt, Paul M. Farris Jr., and Valerie 'Farris' Hume; and siblings Rosemary Morris, Edwina Farris, Robert Daniel and Mitzie Shaw. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Evan Godt, Ethan Godt, Travis Hume and Marissa Hume; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was a strong believer in the Lord and in her family, and always fought for both. She will be missed, but never forgotten by the people in her life, whether they knew her as Mom, Aunt Betty or Nannie. She is at home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Realm Student Ministry at First Baptist Church of Harvester, 4075 South Old Highway 94, St. Charles, MO 63304.
