Betty Ellen Ruhlman (nee Gross), of Weldon Springs, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Clark S. Ruhlman III; cherished daughter of the late Benjamin Wallace and Edna Pearl Gross; devoted mother of Chuck (Jill) Ruhlman, Curt (Christine) Ruhlman, Beverly (Dan) Robinson, Cliff (Tracy) Ruhlman, and Chris (Kerrie) Ruhlman; loving grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 13 (with two on the way); and dear sister of Virginia "Ginny" (Tom) Colandrea. Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Gross and Leonard Gross, and two sisters, Fern Williams and Alice Bowers.
Betty attended both Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison and the University of Kansas where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Several years later, after recognizing the necessity of additional income to help fund her children’s college education she earned an associate degree in computer programming. Throughout her professional life, she held various roles including teacher, computer programmer, and IT manager. Betty devoted many years to the Florissant Valley Christian Church, serving as both an Elder and Moderator. While she cherished traveling and sewing, her most cherished role was being a mother. Her cinnamon rolls will remain a beloved family tradition. Betty's immense love and impact will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
