Betty Shirlene Sherrid

January 30, 1928 — December 26, 2008

Betty Shirlene Sherrid of St. Charles, Missouri; passed away on te 26th day of December, 2008 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri. She succumbed to multiple complications during her struggle against a severe case of pneumonia. She was born in the town of Yale, in Payne County, Oklahoma on January 30th, 1928. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Kerby, her mother, Nellie Kerby and her three siblings: Juanita Milford, Lloyd Kerby and Ethelyn Reichert. She is the beloved wife of 54 years to Robert L. Sherrid. They were married on February 20th, 1954 in Sedgwick County of Wichita, Kansas. She is a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert, her children Carolyn, Roy and Debra, her grandchildren, Michelle, David, Chantal, Johnathon, Brandon, Alethea, Robert, Carissa, Steven and Diane; her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Josie, Meyda, Hadly, Tristan and Layla Paige. Know that she was a good Christian woman who was a member of Bogey Hills Baptist Church. She was an honest out-spoken woman who was direct and frank concerning her likes and dislikes. She had a loving, affectionate and forgiving nature. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She loved and lived life to the fullest and was fiercely deovted and loyal to her family, which she prized above all else. She was greatly loved by all who knew her; friend and family alike. This world will not see her like again and she will be missed by all more than words can express. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Bogey Hills Baptist Church. She will be laid to her final rest at the Baue Memorial Gardens following the service. Visitation may be done at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel on Monday, December 29, 2008 4:00-8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the St. Louis Baptist Childrens Home.
