Betty Jean Stegall

Betty Jean Stegall of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the age of 89. Loving wife of the late Kenneth Stegall; beloved daughter of the late John and Flora Hogan; devoted mother of Darleta Darnell, Kenneth Stegall and the late Lt. Cornal Dennis Stegall; cherished grandmother of Justin (Chelsea) Darnell, Travis (Nikki) Darnell, Monique (Christian) Dias, Candace Stegall, and Ken Stegall; treasured great-grandmother of Cameron, Nolan, Olivia, Gabriel, Kieran, Harper and Mattie. Betty is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ellen Hogan, Lois Tackett, Roberta Buris, John Hogan, Jr., and Melvin Hogan.

Betty was the pianist and sang in the church quartet for over 40 years. She was a woman of strong faith, very godly and was an inspiration and example to so many people. She taught Sunday school, played the guitar and accordion when she was younger and would travel with her father to revivals.

Betty loved to spend her time gardening, canning food and admiring her flowers. She liked quilting, each child and grandchild all have a quilt made by her. Betty also liked to crochet and would gift them with little note "Made with love from Nana."

Betty was a beautiful woman inside and out. She made her children feel like they could do anything and was their greatest fan and cheerleader. Betty was golden, wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and would always try and include everyone's favorite if she knew they were coming over. Betty was highly intelligent, determined and strong.

Betty was a supportive wife, a loving mother, a hardworking woman, and a loyal friend to many. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Betty's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
