Betty Ann Strattman

July 2, 1926 — September 12, 2024

St. Charles, Missouri

Betty Ann Strattman was born to William and Dora (n. Alles) Reuf on July 2, 1926, in North St. Louis. She was Baptized as an infant at Bethany Evangelical-Reformed Church, and confirmed on Palm Sunday 1940.

On May 5, 1945 Betty married the love of her life Arthur Strattman. After an honorable discharge from the service in 1948 the couple set up house-keeping in St. Louis. The couple was blessed with 59 years of marriage and two children, Sherry (Gary Grote) and Gene (Laura).

Betty was also blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda (Reverend Seth Clemmer), Andrew (Kelly), Jessica (Eric Stock) and Joseph. Betty was also blessed with six great grandchildren Annabelle, Everleigh, and Sadie Clemmer; Riley Grote; Garrett and Nolan Stock.

Art & Betty were active members of Lutheran Churches in St. Louis, (Pilgrim), St. Louis County (Chapel of the Cross), and in St. Charles, (Immanuel). Lastly, Betty joined Village to be her church home. She was always ready to share her faith with friends and strangers alike, having great concern for the lost.

Betty worked for Stix, Baer and Fuller part time for twenty years while making a wonderful Christian home for her family. She was blessed with a talent for sewing clothes, draperies, upholstery, even awnings. In addition, Betty loved to bake homemade cakes and desserts for friends and family. Gardening was another interest, ensuring a beautiful yard with flowers.

In December of 2021 Betty fell ill and moved to Breeze Park Nursing Home. There at the age of 98 on September 12, 2024 she fell asleep in Jesus. For this and all the great blessings that Betty received we all give thanks and praise to Our Triune God.

Confirmation Verse. “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Col. 3:2
