Bill Forbis

Forbis, Bill, of St. Charles, MO, died on Monday, September 26, 2016, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Anna Forbis; devoted father of Linda Sue (Michael) Simpson; loving grandfather of Lynette (Aaron) Cronk and Michelle (Ryan) Petras; treasured great-grandfather of Samantha Cronk, Karlie Cronk, and Abigail Petras. Bill is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Forbis.
Bill and Anna wed on March 10, 1944 and were happily married for 72 years. He worked as a Switchman for Norfolk Southern for over 30 years. In his spare time, after retirement, Bill volunteered at St. Joseph’s Health Center. He also enjoyed crocheting doilies, watching old western’s, watching the St. Louis Cardinals ballgames, and listening to country music. Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
