Bill Sommer

Bill Sommer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Barbara Sommer; cherished son of the late George and Roberta Sommer; devoted father of Jenny (Jay) Lyons and Becky (Mike) Koblents; loving grandfather of Alice Koblents; dear brother of the late Bob (Carole) Sommer; brother-in-law of Jim (Diane) Brown; treasured uncle of, Linda Sinecki, Kathy Ewing, Mary Johnsen, Vicki Duhon, Tim Brown; Bill is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. 

Bill was born and raised on a farm, loved the land and carried those family traditions on, as he owned farms his entire life. A dedicated hard worker and a wonderful provider, Bill devoted his life to farming. Bill and his brother, Bob, owned Sommer Brother’s Farm in Orchard Farm, where they had greenhouses, vegetables, strawberry patches and the like. 

Bill was married to Barbara for over 50 years. He loved working hard for his family. They shared incredible memories that will be cherished forever.  

Bill had a great sense of humor and had a close-knit loyal group of friends, who knew him as a kind, easy going and gentle. He loved camping, and he took many trips with camper in tow. He enjoyed visiting Florida and they loved Disney World, especially Epcot.  

Bill was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
