Burns, Billy J., of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the age of 80. He was the loving husband of Mary Alice Burns (nee: Helm); beloved son of the late J.R. and Mattie Burns; devoted father of John (Cindy) E. Burns, Dr. Wm. Paul (Beth James) Burns DDS, and Laura Elizabeth Burns; cherished grandfather of Stanton Burns, Sterling Burns, Grace (Daniel) Burns Terbrock, Kenny Burns, Jackson Burns, William Burns, Caroline Burns, Rand Morris, Braeden Morris, and Evan James; treasured great-grandfather of Austin Burns and Addison Rawlings Burns; and dear brother of Bobbie (Bob) Adcox. Billy is also survived by his niece Terrye (Jim) Stinson and Family, and Bonnye (Willard) Griffin and Family. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Harris Burns. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and went to work as a manager for the Federal Aviation Administration for more than 27 years. Billy loved his family. He was a father and coach to his three children and a doting grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, the Missouri Kidney Foundation, or Autism Speaks.
