If you knew Bob, he was a fun, loving and caring father that just wanted to make sure people had a good time. He loved his family and friends and wanted nothing more than to tell them about the newest brewery or hole in the wall restaurant you had never heard about. He could tell you just about anything about a classic Mopar and loved working on and driving his 1970 Dodge Challenger.
On March 17th Bob Orr passed away of Lung Cancer. With zero prior history of smoking, it was hard to believe. Bob Orr was diagnosed Stage 4 meaning the cancer had already spread through his body to the Liver, Brain, Bones, and other parts of his body. Bob's lung cancer harbored a genetic mutation known as a "RET" mutation which is found in 2-3% of all lung cancer patients. Bob battled over a year and a half with the help of multiple different treatment options made possible by the team at Siteman Cancer Center.
Bob's Family hopes to create a charity in attempt to raise awareness about the different treatment options and early screening opportunities to detect Lung Cancer in its early stages. Currently this foundation is not established, and in the meantime, we ask in Lieu of flowers you make donations to the American Lung Association.
He is survived by his wife Tanya, son Cody, daughter Lauren, mother Paula, sister Julie, father Bob, Stepmother Mindy, Brother Ryan, Sister Allison.
Forever in our hearts, we will always love you and you will never be forgotten.
