Bobbie J. “Bob” Jones, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the age of 82. Loving husband to the late Jackie Jones; devoted father of Robert J. (Brandi) Jones, Teri Jones, and Jeannie (Matt) Renaud; cherished grandfather of Chad (Paige) Jones, Kelsey (Joel Crumrine) Jones, Cecelia Renaud, Dustin Jones, Ally Renaud, Matthew Renaud, Jr., Mariela Jones, Kennedy Waack, and Reese Waack; dear brother of Sue (Ollie) Karg, Gene Jones, and Ruby Rinehart. Bob was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen (Al) Duke, Wanda (Walt) Peetz; and brother, Donnie Jones.
Bob very proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he served two tours of duty. He retired as a Tech Sergeant from the Air Force after 21 years as a military police officer. Upon retirement he loved to travel, especially to the national parks, which Glacier National Park was his favorite, and he had been to all 50 states.
Bob was a true family man and was married 40 years to the love of his life and took care of her faithfully through their entire marriage. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up and attending all of their sports games. He looked forward to family visiting him, and he always had candy on the counter, oatmeal cream pies, and other snacks to enjoy.
Bob was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and tried to get to at least one game a year. He loved to watch Jeopardy DAILY! And, he lived independently, going to work out at the gym regularly, well at least when he wasn't being escorted out by the paramedics to take another ride in the ambulance. Bob was very social and never knew a stranger, almost everyone knew him by name. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to
Paralyzed Veterans of America or
USO.
