Brooks E. Sloan

Memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Municipal Band. Brooks Eugene Sloan was born to Winton Milburn and Mary Eileen Pillow Sloan in Herrin, IL. His loving parents preceded him in death. Mr. Sloan was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was an Army bandsman in the 10th Infantry Division Band in Fort Riley Kansas. He was also a member of the St. Charles Municipal Band and After Hours Community Band. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after 30+ years as a research lab technologist. Mr. Sloan is survived by his dear wife, Edythe Gillooly Sloan of St. Peters, Mo. They were married June 30, 1947 in Murphysboro, IL. He is also survived by three children: Mike Sloan (Louise) of St. Peters, Mo.; Kathi Hoormann (Richard) also of St. Peters and Janalee Kirk (Dave) of Florissant, Mo.; eight grandchildren: John Sloan of Pendelton, CA., Matthew Hoorman of Edwardsville, IL., Shawn Brooks Sloan of Evansville IN., Becky Sloan of Joplin, Mo.; Ryan Hoormann and Kristen Brookes Hoorman both of St. Peters, Mo.; Justin Kirk and Nicole Kirk both of Florissant, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Sloan.
