Burlene M. Jones

Burlene May (Hester) Jones, Born August 3, 1930 to Ruby and Burl Hester. Went to be with her Lord on August 9, 2012. Preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Ruby Hester, and sister, Martha Morill. Burlene married Sherman Jones on March 4, 1949 and celebrated 63 years together in 2012. Burlene was a certified professional secretary (CPS) until her retirement in 1990. She loved wintering in Florida, reading a good book, listening to southern gospel, and doing anything with her beloved husband and three children. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ in her early twenties and served him by teaching Sunday School, directing the choir, singing with her two sisters, playing piano or organ and mentoring others. Now a member of St. Charles First Assembly of God. She leaves her husband, Sherman Jones, her children Sheryl Jones-Zahorsky and husband Gary Zahorsky of Kansas City, MO, Deborah Jones of Kansas City, MO and Steven Jones of Tampa, FL. Also, surviving is her sister, Sue Flippin, nieces: Terri Clover, Roxie Klein, Linda Aranda, and Kim Simon and nephews: Jim Morrill, Kevin Morrill and Mike Montes. She leaves great-nieces and nephews and close extended family, The Daugherty's (Joy, Bob, Janet and Debora), and many close friends and family.
