C. Nick Vomund

Vomund, C. Nick of Saint Paul, MO, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the age of 93. Beloved husband for 71 years of Dorothy (nee: Burkemper); devoted father of Betty (Fred) Molitor, Geraldine (RD) McGuire, Donald (Francy) Vomund, Dick (Mary Beth) Vomund, Kathy (Gordon) Hanneken, Shirley (Randy) Davenport, Kenny (Fay) Vomund, Carol (Mark) Ponte, Tom (Brenda) Vomund, Elaine (Jerry) Brown, David (Pam) Vomund, Jackie (Bill) Steckel and Janice (Steve) Wilson; treasured grandpa of 32, great-grandpa of 32, and great-great-grandpa of 2; dear brother of 12; and uncle and loyal friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (nee: Johannesman), one son, Richard, and three brothers and two sisters.
Nick was a hardworking, faith-filled man committed to his wife, family and community He was a veteran of World War II; owned and operated Vomund Feed and Farm Supply/Hiway 79 Farm Center for 38 years; lifetime member of St. Paul Parish; mayor of St. Paul for 13 years and served on many Boards and Committees for community improvement.
He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
