Cale Steven Ohlms

December 6, 1996 — December 9, 2024

St. Charles

Cale Steven Ohlms, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at the age of 28. Cherished son of Julie Anne (Jim) Lewis and Mark Steven Ohlms; dear brother of Zach (Miriam Kirchhofer) Ohlms; stepbrother of Kim (Bryan), Jenny (Daniel), and Ed; loving grandson of Shirley Priess, Edward (Vera) Priess, and Mary Jane and Richard C. Ohlms, Sr., loving nephew, cousin & friend to many.

Cale was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley, Edward, Mary Jane and Richard, losing both of his grandma’s too early; he loved his Grandpa Ohlms and Grandpa Priess so very much and was in pain when he lost them. His is still survived by his grandmother, Vera.

Cale was a special guy. He wore his heart on the outside and never missed a chance to say I love you. He wasn’t embarrassed when his mom yelled it out to him in public, even around friends. Cale’s eyes sparkled and he lit up every room he entered. His hugs were HUGE and he gave them often. Cale never met a stranger, nor missed a chance to use his goofy, hilarious sense of humor to cheer up those around him. He wanted everyone around him to be happy. Cale made sure to send his Mom funny pictures and videos of himself and coworker friends dancing and singing to make her smile, and she did the same for him. Cale was loyal to a fault and had everyone’s back, enjoying family nights and family connections; he loved all adult humans, as well as kids, babies, and animals.

Cale played baseball, football, and soccer when he was younger, in addition to skateboarding. Cale loved to play frisbee golf with his friends and also loved a round of golf with his friends and his Dad. He loved trout fishing at Bennett Springs with his Dad, his brother Zach, his Grandpa Ohlms, his uncles, and his cousins. Cale loved seeing the ocean and also the beautiful mountains and rivers in Colorado and Idaho where he also enjoyed trout fishing with his Mom and Jim a few years ago. His bowling and softball nights were so important to him because he spent that time doing something he enjoyed, with his buddies and his brother by his side. Cale loved hanging out with his lifelong friends, especially Timmy, Jon, Andrew, Bryson, and so many others that it would take too long to list. He also enjoyed hanging out with his roommate Justin when their schedules allowed.

Cale found out recently that he loved strategic board games too, and he was so good at them. He kept daily contact with his family, not just in messages, but also in the NYT daily connections and wordle games, comparing scores with everyone. Everyone who knew Cale was aware of how much he loved the KC Chiefs and he never missed a chance to watch them play! Cale also enjoyed watching the STL Cardinals and the STL Blues, mostly because this meant being around people which is when he felt the best.

Cale loved his job at Imo’s more than anyone should love a job. He started at Imo’s at 16 and was still there at 28. His loyalty and hard work played a part, but the friends he made at Imo’s became family to Cale and that is why he stayed. This was obvious in all of the photos and videos of them dancing and singing together at work as well as on camping and floating trips. It was evident by all how much he cared for this group of people.

Cale was loved by so many and leaves a gigantic hole in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.

Memorials may be made in Cale's name to Mac's Mission 325 Co Road 436, Jackson, MO 63755.
