Dr. Carl Henry Makarewicz of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the age of 62. Loving husband of Pam Makarewicz (nee Ramshaw); beloved son of the late Henry and Genevieve Makarewicz; devoted father of Cecylia (Tim Keough) Makarewicz and Nick (Catherine) Makarewicz; dear brother of Mary Ann Marx, Leo (Linda) Makarewicz, Mark C. Makarewicz, Millie (Ben) Pagtanac, Theresa (Mark) Siegel, Judith Hayek, Joan Setchfield, Paul (Carmen) Makarewicz, Connie Makarewicz, Tom Makarewicz, Suzanne Renard and James Makarewicz; brother-in-law of Catherine (Jeffery) Boldt, Stephanie (Randy) Buxton, Casey (Sue) Ramshaw, Pat (Sandy) Ramshaw and Loretta Ramshaw (mother-in-law). Survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara (Makarewicz) Dzwonek.
Carl was a teacher of music and a professional trumpet player with Bob Kuban Brass Band for many years. When he was in his 30's, he attended Logan University and was a chiropractor for the past 30 years. He was involved in many civic and community organizations, but he was foremost a teacher and healer. With his passion for education and a dedication to the healing arts, he touched innumerable lives and left a legacy of love in his wake. Carl also had nicknames from his family such as "King Carl" "Chuck" "Cardoo" "Cardolic Polish for Carl" and "Curly Carl." Carl was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. "What a long strange trip it's been.”
Immediately following funeral mass, a Traditional Polish luncheon will be held at the St Joseph's Parish Hall till 4:30.
The Makarewicz family asks that everyone wear red and white in celebration of Carl's Polish heritage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carl’s name to St Joseph's School Band, Cottleville, MO.
