Carol Boulch

May 18, 1936 — April 5, 2018

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Carol Jean Essary Boulch of Gravois Mills, MO, passed away peacefully holding the hand of her sweetheart Don on Thursday, April 5, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Carol was born May 18, 1936 in Jefferson City, Missouri to her loving parents the late Marvin and Helen Essary. She was the second of four children; Bill Essary (deceased), Allen Gayle Essary (deceased), and Gerry Essary.

Carol met her sweetheart Don in the summer of 1954, they knew that they were destined to be together because they were both born on the same day (one year apart).  They were married on April 14, 1956 and would have celebrated their 62nd year of marriage April 14, 2018.

Carol and Don went on to start a family, first with their son Tim, then their daughter Jill, and their youngest Susie.  Being Carol’s child was a blessing because she was always there with a big hug and a kiss every time she saw you.

Carol served Jesus faithfully and righteously, she was a God-fearing woman who had the love of Christ within her and stayed very active in her church.  She led others by example in combining faith and works during her church service.  She and Don spent countless hours after they retired serving as members of The First Baptist Church of Camdenton.  As Carol’s Alzheimer’s progressed, she was unable to attend church, and sometimes even lacked the ability to speak in sentences, but if you turned on Christian music it was as if she didn’t have the disease – a big smile would brighten her face and she would hum, sometimes even singing along.

Carol worked outside of the home and spent her later years as a Reservation Agent for TWA Airlines.  Carol and Don took great advantage of the flight benefits and together they traveled the world.

Carol is survived by her husband Don Boulch; Tim (Linda) Boulch, Jill Esslinger, and Susie (Ginny Shutt) Arnholz; loving grandmother of Josh Schlater, Tim Boulch Jr., Justin Tuttle, Samuel Arnholz, Sarah Arnholz, and Emily Boulch; treasured great-grandmother of Jaxon Tuttle; dear sister of Gerry (Donna) Essary and sister-in-law of Tom (the late Jan) Boulch; and aunt, relative, and friend of many.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Carol’s honor.
