Carol Christella Rolufs Taylor
Carol Taylor was born October 3, 1942 to the parents of Otto Manfred Rolufs, Jr. and Sylvia Elizabeth Thompson. On October 10, 2020 at 11:52am she passed peacefully with her daughter, Melinda Taylor McEwen and Paul McEwen (son-in-law) at her bedside.
Carol was born in St. Louis, Missouri and resided in St. Charles, Missouri for the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Southwest High School. She dedicated her life to sharing her love of music with everyone. She was a vocal and piano instructor until 2018 when her health deteriorated. Many were touched by her talent and love of music. Her legacy will live on through the voices and appreciation for music through her students and family.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Sylvia Rolufs along with her youngest son, M. Daniel Taylor.
Survivors: Gayle William Taylor (North Carolina), Daughters: Sarah Elizabeth Taylor, (North Carolina), Melinda Gayle Taylor McEwen and Paul McEwen, spouse (Missouri) Susie Taylor Basler and Gene Basler, spouse (Texas), Son: Joseph Taylor, Missouri. Grandchildren: Elizabeth and Corbin Blakemore (North Carolina), Caitlin and Brett Dixon, Carolina McEwen, Daine Taylor, Mikail (Miko) Taylor, Julien Basler, Marlo Jayne Basler, Achilles Taylor, Ares Taylor and great-granddaughter: Presley Elizabeth Blakemore.
Carol will be deeply missed by her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Ralph Lee, her youngest sister, Linda Rolufs, best friends Janet and Berl Bays and many, many cousins and friends.
Carol’s wish for all is to spread joy and happiness through the gift of voice, music and dance. She passed this gift to her children and thousands of others over the years, with the hope that her legacy will continue to enhance the world. She will be deeply missed.
Carol was succumbed by Covid-19 and heart complications. Due to the severity of Covid-19, the family has chosen to postpone services until a later time. She will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood, Missouri. The family sends everyone their love and appreciates the support from all.
