Carol Ann Craig

Carol Ann Craig (nee Myers), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of the late Allen Loren and Lois Vivian Myers; devoted mother of Jennifer "Jenny" Ann (Brian Keith) Hodges; cherished grandmother of Zachary “Zac” Brian Hodges; loving lifelong companion of Joy Kathleen (Holtzmann) Ebest; dear sister of Kathryn “Kathy” Jane (the late Jack) Ward, Roger Allen (Alice) Myers; loving aunt and great-aunt. Carol was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Thomas Craig.

She graduated from Kirksville High School in 1959. She attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, now Truman University, where she received her bachelor's and master’s degrees. Carol moved to St. Louis, Missouri after graduating and spent her career as an educator. She taught with the Ritenour School District, as a professor at Lindenwood University and retired from the City of St. Charles School District. During her career she developed many lasting relationships with her students as well as her colleagues.

Carol was a woman of strong faith and an active member of First St. Charles United Methodist Church. Carol was a huge part of her family's life and attended all her grandson Zac’s sporting events and art exhibits. Carol and Joy traveled extensively, across the United States and abroad as well. They spent 40 years sharing many wonderful memories. She was an amazing person and never knew a stranger. Everyone gravitated to her personality. Carol was an excellent storyteller, and people loved to listen. She loved history and learning about her family’s ancestry. Carol loved her family and friends more than anything in the world. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Carol's name to First St. Charles United Methodist Church or the City of St. Charles School District’s organization called Care to Learn St. Charles.
