Carol Janet McCafferty

Carol Janet McCafferty (nee Hankey), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Tim McCafferty; devoted daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha Hankey; loving mother of Barb Hagan, Chrissy (Steve) Jeune, and Denise (Andy) Austin; cherished grandmother of Ashley (Brian) Miller, Andrew (Sophia) Austin, Jennica Hagan, Alek Austin, Ashton (Isaac) Gottman, Tim Hagan, and Bonnie Jeune; precious great-grandmother of Shyanne Miller, Lillyanne Miller, Gracelyn Miller, and Thaddeus Austin; dear aunt and friend of many. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Dean Hankey, Rowena Grigg, and Darrell (Verla) Hankey.

Janet worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Postal Union. She had many friends, including a special close-knit group of former neighbors going back over fifty years.

Janet was very family oriented and devoted herself to her loved ones. Because of this love, people loved her back. Janet was a proud woman of faith and loved to read her Bible. She was very active in her church and went out of her way to be of service to others. Janet was a selfless woman who always needed a mission. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making and mending clothes for her family.

Janet was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
