Carol P. Leeke

July 31, 1932 — August 5, 2012

Carol P. Leeke, age 80 of St. Charles, Missouri, was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 5, 2012 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving children and passed away at the Meramec Bluffs LSS care center where she resided. Carol was born July 31, 1932 in Monett, Missouri. Sister to brothers Jim (Bev) Russell (Taneyville, MO), Fred (Barbara) Ebert (Billings, MO), Jack (Betty) Ebert (Aurora, MO) and Kenny (Connie) Ebert (Aurora, MO). Carol is predeceased by her husband, David J. Leeke of St. Charles, a brother, Joe Paul (Judy) Russell of Springfield, MO, and her parents, Bessie and Arthur Ebert of Billings, Missouri. While in college for her nursing degree, she met and fell in love with David. David and Carol were married on March 28, 1953, and celebrated their last anniversary of 57 years prior to David's death in 2010. Making St. Charles their home, Carol spent many years as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri beginning in 1969 and eventually retired as the school nurse from St. Charles High School in 1992. Carol's life will be celebrated by her loving daughters Debra McCarty (Mike) of Easton, Minnesota and Jo Ellen Leeke of St. Louis, Missouri, son Marc Leeke (Angela) of Ballwin, Missouri, daughter Cheryl Lamonica (Tim) of Millstadt, Illinois and son Jim Leeke (Paula) of O'Fallon, Missouri. Grandma's love will forever be reflected in her nine grandchildren, Christopher, John, Jason, Amy, Matthew, David, Michael, Jessica, Sonya and Alex and one great-granddaughter Isabella. Carol was an active member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles and served her Lord in faithfulness and love for many years. Mom was lovingly cared for by both the LSS staff from Breeze Park and Meramec Bluffs and we appreciate everything they did for her. Mom's neighbors faithfully visited her and gave encouragement to all her children. First Baptist members faithfully sent prayer cards and cards of encouragement. For all of these people we are truly grateful in helping to make Mom's life since Dad's passing a more comfortable time. Please join in the celebration of Carol's life. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10th at First Baptist Church of St. Charles, 2701 Muegge Road, 63303, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. (no interment). All are invited to join the family for a luncheon immediately following the service at the church. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you remember Carol and her family in your prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice. The family is grateful for your prayers and friendship. Proverbs 31: 28 – 31 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her, 29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
