Carol Ryan

Carol Ryan, a lifelong resident of Saint Charles, died March 23, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born on May 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Edwin and Elvira Kampman. She graduated from Borromeo Grade School and St. Peter’s High School, and was a long-standing parishioner at Borromeo Catholic Church.

Carol enjoyed traveling with her husband, Charles Ryan Jr., and visiting her grandchildren always put a smile on her face. She loved getting together with her longtime friends from high school, especially her good friend Colette Sebacher, eating lunch by the Riverfront, and endless chatting with family and loved ones while drinking her cappuccinos. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, community member, and friend, who touched many lives with her humor and thoughtfulness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles Ryan Jr., her parents, Edwin and Elvira Kampman, and her brother Ed Kampman (Joann). She is survived by her children Michael Ryan (Christine), Charles J. Ryan III (Jodi), Karen Jackson (Mark), Nancy Coleman (Harley) and Kathleen “Katie” Mudd (Darren), her sister Darlene Sachs (Lester), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to Duchesne High School in care of Baue Funeral Home.
