Carole A. Zang (nee: Foster), a marriage and family counselor in private practice for many years in St. Louis, Clayton and Lake St. Louis, died Friday, February 29, 2008 of complication of various infirmities. She was 75 and lived at the Meramec Bluffs Care Center in Ballwin, Missouri and formerly of Lake St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Zang, a psychologist, licensed by the State of Missouri, attended the University of Illinois, received a post graduate degree from Webster University and completed three years of further education at the Care and Counseling program in pastoral counseling at Eden Seminary in Webster Groves. She was both the first woman and the first non-clergy to complete the program. Mrs. Zang was active in volunteer work in the helping professions, doing counseling with Navy Relief in the 1950's, and participating in the St. Louis human relations movement in the 1960's. She served as the volunteer Training Director of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri under Bishop George Catigan, and later served as an ordained Stephen's Minister. In addition to her husband, Gerald Zang, Mrs. Zang is survived by four children, Linda Zang, James Zang, Mark Zang and Karen Luesse, and a granddaughter, Katie Zang, all living in the St. Louis area. Services: The Family is being served by The Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO where visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 3:00-8:00 PM. and from 10:00-10:30 AM at church prior to the service.
