Carolyn E. Boyer of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Loving wife of 53 years to Wayne Boyer Sr.; devoted mother of Michelle Boyer and Wayne E. (Amy) Boyer II; cherished grandmother of Joseph Melvin, Nicolas Melvin, Austin Boyer, and Brooke Boyer; dear sister of Dennis Batteram and Ronald Batteram. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her infant son, Wayne Boyer Jr.
Carolyn met Wayne in the summer of 1967, while hanging out on the cruise strip at the White Castle’s in Berkeley, MO. She asked Wayne if he wanted to play cards. Little did she know that this guy, who had a 427 Chevy Impala at the time, had never played cards in his life. They hit it off though, and were married almost a year later at First Baptist Church of Overland.
Carolyn was a dedicated woman of Christian faith, and she cherished teaching Sunday School to the kids at First Baptist of Ferguson. She loved family and treated everyone as such, and she rarely met a stranger. She truly enjoyed crocheting and made about 50 afghans and blankets for various friends and family members.
Carolyn loved her family above everything else, and she always cherished family reunions or the opportunity to watch her kids play sports. She also enjoyed volunteering her service as both a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scouts Den Mother for her children. She was a fantastic baker and her Christmas cookies were a specialty that the whole family looked forward to every year.
Carolyn will be remembered for her outgoing and loving nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
