Carolyn Fuller Popp of O'Fallon, IL, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, in St. Louis, MO. Carolyn was born December 28, 1944, to James Augustus Fuller Sr. and Esteen Odom Fuller in Conroe, TX, where she spent most of her childhood. She graduated from Conroe High School and was a Texan through and through. One of the great joys of Carolyn's childhood was her large extended family. She always had stories to tell about bike rides, playing with cousins, holiday get-togethers, family vacations, and her first job at the local movie theater.
Carolyn attended college at Brigham Young University, and she met her future husband and love of her life, William J. Popp, in the BYU marching band, where she played the flute, and he played the tuba. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 29, 1967.
Carolyn worked for the City of Winchester, MO, as a court clerk for several years, served a family history mission with her husband in Salt Lake City, UT, and when she returned from her mission, she worked in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints St. Louis Missouri Temple as a temple recorder. She was an avid genealogist, loved to travel, loved to make crafts, sew, quilt, and served in many church assignments throughout the years. She brought creativity and flair to those assignments and to community volunteer work such as Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader, and she enjoyed playing the flute in the After-Hours Community Band out of St Charles, MO.
As Mom and Grandma, she showed her love by cheering at ballgames, sewing clothes, going on adventures, playing dominoes, and cooking Southern-style meals and beautiful cakes and pies. The greatest lesson she ever taught us is that families are forever.
