She was born September 2, 1937, in St. Charles, MO. where she also attended Lindenwood University completing a degree in Home Economics. Shortly after graduating she set out on her own and began her adventures as a flight attendant with American Airlines. While flying she met the love of her life, Don, and they married after a whirlwind six month courtship. Great-granddaughter, Sophie Marie Downing, was the latest bright light in her life. Don's sister, Barbara, resides in Arizona.
Carolyn was known for her vivacious personality, her warmth and engaging laughter. She loved to travel and was never one to miss a Royal Lakes happy hour. She will be missed by many friends in the Royal Lakes neighborhood whom she described as her chosen family. She often said that we should all be so blessed to be loved by so many. Her family loved her dearly and has peace in their hearts that she and Don are again united and setting out on their last great adventure together.
