Carolyn Scofield

Memorial donations may be made to Gardenview Care Center of Chesterfield, Dementia Care Unit. Carolyn Scofield, 89, died Friday, November 23, 2001 at Gardenview Care Center of Chesterfield. She was born No-vember 18, 1912 in Groningen, Holland and came with her family to America in 1920, settling in Iowa, later relocating to St. Louis. Mrs. Scofield was a retired LPN having worked at the former Missouri Pacific Hospital on Grand Avenue for 20 years. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Harmony Temple. Survivors include a brother, Jacob (Cathy) Remmenga of Roswell, NM, two sisters, Grace Colter and Vina Blackford of Poplar Bluff, MO, 13 nieces and nephews, a son, Fred VanGorp of St. Louis County and 2 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Scofied and son, Hank VanGorp. Burial will be at New St. Marcus Cemetery on Gravois.
