Carolyn Wassung

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Wassung of Saint Louis, Missouri, born in Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Carolyn was born September 24, 1933, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to the late Claire and Ruth (Alabaster) Weatherhogg. Carolyn was the loving wife of the late Louis Wassung; devoted mother of Eric (Yu Mei) Wassung of Normandy, MO; cherished aunt of Scott Prell of Diamond Bar, CA, Mark Prell of Oakton, VA, Karen Metzger of Omaha, NE, and Cherrie Carpenter of Omaha, NE. She is also the dear sister of the late Meredith Prell.

Carolyn attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, following her parent’s legacy, where she was actively involved in the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She also attended Meramec Community College. She was a very hard-working woman who had a successful career as a paralegal. She was a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church, P.E.O member, and formerly an Eastern Star. After retirement, she enjoyed playing Sudoku, Mahjong, and Bridge with family and friends. Carolyn had a caring heart and served her community through the Stephen Ministries extending her warmth and support to others.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew.
