Carroll E. Pingel

Carroll is survived by his children, Doug (Dana) Pingel, Denise (Michael) Scoffic, and Dora (Scott) Hyslop; his grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Stephens, Matthew Pingel, Alex (Andrew) Capestany-Kress, and Nicholas Hyslop; his great-granddaughters, Analee Stephens and Adalia Kress; his brother-in-law, Jim (Connie) Mohn and sister-in-law Myrna (Jon) Hamann. Carroll was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lila (Don) Beck and Lorrell (Kathy) Pingel. Carroll was a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many. 

Carroll was born in Aurelia, Iowa and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church Afton Township. Carroll graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as an engineer for over 35 years for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of St. Charles for more than 50 years. He actively volunteered there including serving on the school board, the Oasis Food Pantry board and working with the Nehemiahs. Carroll and Lois enjoyed camping and traveling together and were able to visit all 50 states. Friends and family will always remember Carroll as a devoted caregiver for his wife, a loving father and grandfather who showed his faith by the way he lived his life.
