Catherine Irene Goellner

Catherine Irene Goellner, 71, of Saint Charles, passed away January 22^nd, 2021, with her family by her side.

She was born to parents Lawrence and Emma Fischer, August 6^th, 1949, in Saint Charles. Cathy graduated from Duchesne High School in 1967.

She was married to Francis “Bud” Goellner in 1971, in Saint Charles, where they continued to live and raise their family. Cathy is survived by her four children and ten grandchildren, all of Saint Charles. Her eldest, James “Nate” Goellner and his wife Stephanie, along with their three children Braden, Aubrey, and Mason. Her second, Joshua Goellner, and his three children Olivia, Cameron, and Jacob. Her eldest daughter Sarah Blase and her husband Blake, along with their three children Adelaide, Easton, and Luca. Her youngest, Abigail “Abby” Scott and her husband Tim, along with their daughter Sarah Katherine and Baby Scott due in August. She is additionally survived by her Mother, Emma Fischer, along with her siblings Lawrence Fischer, Nancy Tweet, Barbara Crider, and Jeffrey Fischer. Cathy was preceded in death by her father Lawrence and brother Bill Fischer.

A devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a friend to all - Cathy leaves behind a legacy that can never be forgotten. Her intense love and embrace of all those who knew her will be warmly remembered and forever missed. She met her husband, Bud, in high school where they soon became sweet hearts, sparking a love that blossomed and never faded. Their undivided devotion and commitment to one another was the beginning of a family bond unlike any other. Cathy and Bud’s love continued to grow as they welcomed their four children to the world, and from their four children came Cathy’s (“CC’s”) biggest love and joy, her eleven grandchildren. She loved her time with family more than anything, involving herself wholly and with unconditional love in to their lives. Cathy was an avid traveler, having visited countless countries and gracing five separate continents in her various trips around the world.

Though she will be missed by all who knew her, Cathy’s love will live on in all of us.

A viewing ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 4^th, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Baue Funeral Home on Jefferson Street in Saint Charles. The memorial service will be held Friday, February 5^th, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church at 10 a.m. The family asks that donations be made to Crisis Nursery for supporting families in crisis in lieu of sending flowers.
