Catherine Kearney

Catherine Ann Kearney, 78, of St. Peters, MO, completed her life’s journey on February 27th, 2011, in her home, with her family at her side. Catherine Ann Kearney, nee Buchanan, was born to Ann Bernice and John William Buchanan on October 28th, 1932, in St. Louis, MO. She married the love of her life, Walter J. “Bud” Kearney on April 15th, 1953, a marriage which lasted 48 years until her beloved husband’s departure from this earth on December 21, 2001. Catherine spent her years caring for her seven children and husband; being a devout Catholic, Catherine also lived a life that was an example to her faith. Catherine is survived by her two sisters, Judy (Gene) Renick; Nancy (Richard) Crowell; by her brother, John William “Bill” (Sharon) Buchanan III, all of Missouri; by her seven children, John (Joanne) Kearney, of Missouri; Steven (Rosie) Kearney, of California; David Kearney, of Alabama; Jeffrey Kearney, Charles “Chuck” Kearney, of Missouri; Mary Catherine (Kearney) Rose, of Colorado; and Christopher (Eliza) Kearney, of Alabama; by her fourteen grandchildren, Kevin Kearney, Brianne Kearney, Stephanie Kearney, Alexander Kearney, of California; Crystal (Travis) Woodsmall, of Missouri; Matthew (Lindsay) Kearney, Joshua Kearney, of Missouri; Fallon Laird, of Missouri; Jennifer (Shawn) Aragon, Amanda Rose, of Colorado; Devon Coulter, Liam Coulter; Krista Kearney, of Illinois; and Nathan Nelson, of Colorado; by her 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter J. “Bud” Kearney on December 21st, 2001. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
