Cecil H. Orth, Jr., was born November 30, 1938 to Cecil H. Orth, Sr. and Alma Orth (nee: Connell), in Centertown, MO.
When Cecil's father was drafted into the military, Cecil, his mother, and his younger brother Stanley went to live with his maternal grandparents in Eldon, MO, where Cecil attended school for a few years. After that, the family moved to Labadie, MO, where he attended grade school. The family then moved to Washington, MO, where he attended high school, graduating in 1957.
After high school, Cecil joined the Air Force and was stationed in Texas, Bangor Maine, and Hopedale Labrador (North of Canada). After his honorable discharge from the military, he went to work for McDonnell Douglas, where he remained for 43 years. Cecil was a member of the Machinist Union 837 and loved gardening, woodworking, and fishing.
In 1964, Cecil married Sandra Arnold in Gary, Indiana. Cecil and Sandra moved to St. Charles County in 1965 and joined Zion Lutheran Church in the spring of 1970, where he held several positions.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Sandra, his sons John (Amy) and James (Mary), and six grandchildren Ashley, William, Alyssa, Emily, Addison, and Hannah.
