Charissa Lavita Carrino-Hoffman

August 5, 1985 — November 23, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Charissa Lavita Carrino-Hoffman of Saint Peters, Missouri, at the age of 35. Charissa left this world unexpectedly on Monday, November 23, 2020.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri (MO) on August 5, 1985 to Bonnie Moorman and Dennis Carrino.  She is survived by her two young children Ava Hoffman (14 years old) and Gavin Hoffman (9 years old), mother and step-father Bonnie and Clayton Moorman, father and step-mother Dennis and Marybeth Carrino, brothers Nicholas and Phillip Carrino, sisters Sarah Carrino and Emma Moorman, and Jamie Lamia, sisters-in-law  Carlie Carrino and Shelia Moehlenkamp-Carrino, nieces and nephews Amber Carrino and Nixon Carrino, Shane Moehlenkamp, Tyler Bresler and  Brook Rossfeld, and great grandmother Morine Bostian.

Charissa graduated in the spring of 2004 from Hope High School in O’Fallon, MO and went on to attend St. Charles Community College where she pursued her devotion for the arts. After college, Charissa obtained a position with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Although she enjoyed her career, her greatest passion was being a mother first. She left the IRS shortly after the birth of her second child and dedicated herself to raising her two children.

Charissa was a caring, intelligent, and vibrant woman who cared deeply for her children, family, and friends. Her generosity and love knew no bounds with an empathetic spirit pure of heart and soul. She always maintained a childlike innocence that would shine through her glowing smile and infectious laugh. Her warm nature attracted love and admiration from all who met her. She especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings where she could share her culinary talent for baking with her loved ones. In addition, she found immense joy in bestowing her knowledge and fervor for dancing, painting, and soccer on her children. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. This world has lost a sincere, angelic soul.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Office of State Treasurer (MOST) 529 Education Plan through the Go Fund Me campaign established in Charissa’s name which will be used to fund her children's college education.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Baue Funeral Homes does require all family members and guests to wear a mask while visiting our facilities. Social distancing is required, and guests should stay at least 6 feet apart. Thank you for your understanding.
