Beckman, Charles H., 89, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016, in his home. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Julia A. (nee: Carter) Beckman; cherished son of the late Henry and Flossie (nee: Tillotson) Beckman-Hechler; devoted father of Robert H. (Janice) Beckman; loving stepfather of Brenda S. (Mona Comici) Yost; dear grandfather of Michelle (Craig) DeWitt and William Andrew (April) Yost; treasured great-grandfather of Peyton DeWitt, Paxton DeWitt, AJ Yost, and Aaron Yost; dear uncle and friend to many.
Charles was raised on a farm near Troy, MO. He became a skilled master mechanic of heavy equipment and was employed by Fred Weber, Inc. for 41 years. He was a 64-year member of Local 513 Operating Engineers, a member of St. Charles Masonic Lodge, Moolah Shriners, American Legion Post 312, and MO-IL Tractor Association. Charles was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Charles was known for his strong work ethic and was a good provider to his immediate and extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital.
