Charles H. Fierling, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the age of 89. Loving husband of the late June Lorene Fierling of 70 years; beloved son of the late Leo and Millie Fierling; devoted father of Lynda Nimtz, Robin (Randy) Pressy, and Brad Fierling; cherished grandfather of 11, great-grandfather of 20, and great-great grandfather of 2; dear brother of June Brown. Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Edna Genteman.
Charlie was a member of Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and Kiwanas. He was a hardworking owner and butcher of IGA stores for at least 70 years in St. Charles. He was a workaholic. After retirement, he worked for Manninos in Cottleville as a meat cutter. He loved to barbeque and could cook anything. In his younger years, Charlie played on the O’Fallon Legion Baseball team. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed watching sports as well. Charlie was a very humble and selfless man, always giving to others. He was generous and would always give his time and money to those that needed it. Charlie was a man of great faith. He was a member at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church for over twenty years. Charlie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
