Charles E. King

Charles “Charlie” E. King, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at the age of 82. Preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn King and Sue Shelton; cherished son of the late, Dee and Mildred King; Devoted father of Annetta King, the late Troy King, Brian (Susan Ammons) Mauldin, and Tim (Alyssa) Mauldin; stepfather of Stephen (Jamie) Colbert; loving grandfather of Payton Mauldin, Paige Mauldin, Jacob Ammons, Katie Bergman, Caleb Colbert, Isaak Welker, Zachary Welker, and the late Shelby Welker; treasured great-grandfather of Beckham Bergman; dear brother of Sue Bartoloni; uncle to Darrin Davis and Deanna Davis, cousin, and friend to many.

Charlie graduated from Eureka High School in 1960 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts from Central Methodist. His career started at McDonnell Douglas, which then changed to follow his passion, becoming a mechanic. Charlie had a love for hot rods, attended many car shows, races, and was a proud member of the Gear Heads Car Club. He enjoyed tinkering and particularly cherished his 1957 Chevys. Charlie was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, target shooting, and clay shooting. His dedication to supporting his children's and grandchildren's sports and hobbies was unwavering, and he loved cheering them on at their events. Charlie had a vibrant social life, playing adult league softball and casually jamming in a band with friends. Charlie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
