Charles L. “Chuck” Rankin, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 87. Loving husband of Joaquin “Jo” Rankin; beloved son of the late Robert and Bernice Rankin; devoted father of Kimberley (Gary) Sklodowski, Robert Rankin, and the late Raymond Rankin; dear step-father of Karen (Steven) Dees and the late Rodney Duello; cherished grandfather of Nikki (Justin), Kristine (Jeff), Trevor, and Savannah; treasured great-grandfather of six; dearest brother of the late Orville Grimes and the late Warren Grimes.
Chuck proudly and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors after more than 30 years in sales with the A/C Delco division.
As a sports enthusiast, Chuck enjoyed playing all sports in high school, especially basketball. In his later years, he looked forward to watching baseball, basketball, and football games on TV. Two of Chuck’s favorite athletes were Tom Brady and LeBron James.
Chuck liked the outdoors and enjoyed trapshooting with his buddies. He also had a great time hanging out with his buddies for breakfast once a month.
Chuck is survived by his beloved cat, Tinkerbell, whom he adored. The guardian angels of life sometimes fly so high as to be beyond our sight, but they are always looking down upon us. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
