Charles “Charlie" L. Twente, 89, of St. Charles, MO. went to be with the Lord from the comfort of his home with his beloved wife Joyce Bynum-Twente of 32 years by his side on April 10, 2021. Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
CT was a master carpenter for the St. Louis carpenters union and seem to have a “superpower” for finding a crappie hotspot like no one else. He loved fishing with family and friends at places like Truman and Mark Twain Lakes. He was an avid Cardinal's baseball fan, even having the opportunity to attend an open try out session for the Cardinals in the mid 1950’s. Charlie also enjoyed watching Billikens and Mizzou basketball as well as Mizzou Football. He contributed to the community by coaching boy’s softball for many years. He was also an accomplished bowler.
He was a soft spoken man with a dry sense of humor and a quick wit. He deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. CT was a sweet soul and gentleman to all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving a rich legacy for all to cherish and admire.
Charlie was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Charlie Mitchell Twente & Beulah (Warren) of Olive Branch, IL., a brother Norman Twente of Olive Branch, IL.
He is survived by his devoted wife Joyce Bynum-Twente of St. Charles, MO, brother Clifford Twente & Laura, daughter Linda Twente, son Michael Twente, granddaughters Kim, Lisa, Sarahlinda and grandson Dylan. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
CT will be deeply missed by all.
If you would like to honor his legacy a memorial donation can made in his name to the
Alzheimer’s Association.
Charlie graciously donated his body to Washington University School of Medicine.
