Charles Martin “Charlie” Upton Sr.
August 20, 1925 — January 27, 2018
Charles Martin Upton Sr. passed away on Saturday, January 27th at the age of 92 while surrounded by his loved ones.
Charlie is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Joan (Derr) Upton. Together they raised 8 children; Sue (Lauri) Rauscher, Ricky (Sandy) Upton, Pamela (Patrick) McGourty, Cindy (Frank) Hale, Vickie (Terry Gellner) Zeis, Jackie Upton, Chuck Upton and Connie (Fred) Nixon; beloved grandfather of 20, great-grandfather of 30 and great-great-grandfather of 1.
Charles was a retired Teamster, Local Union 600, having been an over the road truck driver for many years. He was a life long Master Mason, Noble Shriner, World War II and Korean War Veteran. Charlie had a passion for walking, hiking and being outdoors, he was a member of the AVA (American Volksport Association) and the Illinois Trekkers. Charlie was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
