Charles “Mick” Schlueter, was fortified with the Sacrament of Holy Mother church Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the age of 85 where he passed away peacefully at home. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn “Penny” Schlueter (nee Borman) for 38 years. He was the son of the late Helen Ruth Schlueter (nee Murphy) and Charles Henry Schlueter. Loving father of Charles “Mick” Schlueter, Jr. (Connie) and Danelle (Dave) Hinrichs, dear grandfather of Chloe Marie, Joseph Edward, and Grace Elizabeth; dear brother of the late Suzanne Schlueter (nee McMenamy) and Rex and Vicki Barbeau; dear uncle to Joe, Laura, Eddie, Melissa and others. Loving nephew of Lillian Furgersen. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to all who knew him.
Mick spent eight years in the Army Reserves and retired from Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed sports especially bowling and basketball. He had a love for all kinds of movies and music. He also loved taking daytime bus trips with Aunt Lil and Penny and going to Hodak’s for fried chicken.
Mick dearly loved all his fur babies: beginning with Benji, Peaches, Damsy, Shepherd, Rocky, Sheba, Sammy, Sophie, Little Buddy, Sadie, Cody, Maxi, Tootie, Shelby, and Toby. They all will be greeting Mick at the Rainbow Bridge.
The family wishes to express loving gratitude to all family members and friends who helped in his last weeks. Also, to the wonderful Vitas Hospice angels who cared for Mick and family.
