Charles Visos

February 1, 1923 — July 3, 2012

Visos, Charles age 89 died of heart failure July 3, 2012. Born February 1, 1923 and raised in 1920-30's Greek community of west St. Louis City, Charles was life-long resident of St. Louis, Missouri area. Charles graduated from Washington University with electrical engineering degree that GI bill paid as a World War II veteran. Charles worked in appliance field designing circuits and assembly line processes. Career change led Charles into gas control design for WHITE RODGERS. Charles held 26 patents and was a leader in gas control safety and manufacturing. Highlight of Charles life was the day he met Clara Lois Kandaris. Clara and Charles were married in June 3, 1945 and had 59 wonderful, fun-filled years together until Clara died on June 3, 2004. In a small house on Dale Avenue, Charles and Clara hosted a yearly Saints Day party for hundreds of their friends, neighbors and family. Charles and Clara loved entertaining everyone in their home. The coffee was always ready. Charles was loved by all that he came into contact, an amiable talker and smart, intelligent man. Charles was life-long baseball Cardinal fan. From his first neighbors to his last, Charles made lasting friendships and will be sorely missed. Survived by sons John (Mary), Larry (Rebecca) and Dennis. Grandchildren Marie and Charles Visos, Jennifer Wolverton (Brian), Valerie Walker (Allen), Christopher Visos (Michele), Sarah Ely (Tim), David Visos and Cindy Camenisch (Mike). Great grandchildren Benjamin, Bailey and Bradley Bennett and Allysa Visos and Jade, Timothy, and Violet Ely and Justin, Savannah and Tyler Camenisch, and Krystal, Mercedes and Logan Wolverton. Great-great grandchildren Jordan Reynolds and Kylee and Nora Bennett. Also, survived by two sisters Dena Scoular and Ann Ginos and nephew Deno Scoular (Liz) and niece Georgia Barrow (Blake) and nephews Nick Ginos (Kathy) and Tom Ginos (Christina) and sister-in-law Mary Pantelis and nephew Pete Pantelis (Sylvana) and niece Betty Tsougranis (Greg).
