Charles Witte

March 1, 1947 — December 29, 2020

Charles F. Witte, born on March 1, 1947 and fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on December 29, 2020, was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Michael and Mary Alice (Slenker) Witte; and his siblings, Roger Witte and Rosemary Adams.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Suzanne (nee Ryan) Witte; his dear children, Rebecca Smith and Ryan (Diane) Witte; his treasured grandchildren, Joshua (Ari), Aaron (Bailey), LeeAnn Smith, Danielle Thompson, and Brady and Connor Witte; his precious great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Addelyn Smith; and loving foster father of dozens of children of all ages.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 823 and the St. Philippine Duchesne Assembly 571 of the 4th Degree. He was an active leader of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts serving in various roles such as Committee Chairman and Scout Master of Troop 974.

He’s been a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling, watching his birds, smoking cigars, and playing with the dog. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke it was usually worth listening to. He will be dearly missed by his family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial contributions in Charles’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, or in the form of Masses.
