Born on April 14, 1927 in Webster Groves, MO, Charliebelle was an only child. She grew up in St. Louis, MO, raised by her grandmother. Her parents, Charles and Safronia Bobbitt, died in their mid-forties. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Stanley. Charlie married a young man by the name of Louis Stanley after he served in the Army in World War II. She was a high school graduate and decided to go to Homer G. Phillips (a nursing vocational school) shortly after they married.
She became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for twenty-seven years as a nurse in the healthcare industry and decided to switch jobs late in her career. She took a job at the telephone company (Contel) for fifteen years and retired.
She is proud of her three daughters, one son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She used to sew and crochet beautiful blankets and quilts. Charliebelle was an avid swimmer, tap dancer, and threw great parties at her home. Charliebelle still had the moves and liked to party. She had rhythm! We loved to watch her dance. Thank you mom for all the joy you brought.
We love you mom!
Memorial contributions may be made in Charliebelle's honor to an organization of Donor's Choice.
