Chester Clay Shelton

Beloved husband of Carolyn Shelton; loving father of Christia (Richard) Alferman and Clay (Susan) Shelton; dear brother of Yvonne (Charlie) James; proud grandfather of Carrie Hartnett and Tom (Kelly) Hartnett; Jackie and Kara Shelton; step-grandfather of Tricia (Jerry) Erpelding and Laura (Ashley) Govero; step-great-grandfather of Abby Govero. Preceded in death by parents, Clay Chester and Ruby Marie Shelton, and sister, Rosemary Williams. Mr. Shelton served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953. He was an Air Traffic Controller for Federal Aviation for 32 years and owned and operated several farms in southeastern Missouri. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and American Legion Post #312.
