Chester Horton Davisson

Davisson, Chester H., of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the age of 97. Dear son of the late Chester Cook Davisson and Alice Reese Fredrich; beloved husband of the late Ruth Lora Davisson, cherished father of David (Judy) Davisson; loving grandfather of Jeffrey Davisson and Akemi Davisson and dear uncle and friend of many. He is preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Gerdes. Born in St. Louis in 1910, Chester went to work as an accounting clerk for the Laclede Gas Company in 1925. He retired from the Gas Company in 1974 as the Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing. Chester was a veteran of WW II serving in the Navy Seabees throughout the South Pacific. He held public positions as Mayor of the Town of Margona Village and on the zoning and city charter commissions for the City of Normandy. He was an active lifetime member of the Occidental Masonic Lodge No. 623 and Eastern Star Home Chapter No. 313. He held various positions in these organizations including Worshipful Master and Deputy District Grand Master of the 33rd Masonic District of Missouri and Worthy Patron of his Eastern Star Chapter. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. For the past five years he lived as a resident of the Oak Village Retirement Community in St. Peters.
