Clara “Jean” Schaeffer

Clara “Jean” Schaeffer (nee Messner), of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of 67 years to Walter Schaeffer; cherished daughter of the late Alphonse and Clara Messner; devoted mother of Judi (John) Kapeller and Mike (Jerri Lynn) Schaeffer; loving grandmother of Christopher Schaeffer, Sara (Michael) Bazzoni, Christopher Kapeller, Laura (Bryan) Davis, Jessica (Kris) Hiestand, and Joel Graves; and treasured great-grandmother of Riley, Hayden, Addie, and George. She is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.

Jean was a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and bowling. She also enjoyed going on vacation and traveling with her husband. Jean had a green thumb and loved gardening and working outside. She also enjoyed visiting the casino and playing penny slots. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
