Clarence W. Schlueter of Cottleville, Missouri, was called home to his eternal peaceful rest on Monday March 30, 2020 at the age of 90. Loving husband of Marleen (Wilcox) Schlueter; beloved son of the late Earl and Lavina Schlueter; devoted father of Dawn (Robert) Church, Dana (William) Cogo; cherished grandfather of Jason (Laura Rhea) Church, Justin (Trina Anselmo) Church, Erin Lanasa, Brittany and Nicole Klos; treasured great-grandfather of Taylor Siebe. Dear brother of Kenneth (Mary) Schlueter. He is preceded in death by his loving daughter D’Ann Schlueter and his dear brother Arthur Schluete
Clarence, a Korean War Veteran; served in the Air Force as a forward observer (TACP; Special Operation Forces) 1950-1952. Upon his return from war he married his beautiful bride Marleen; they were blessed with 68 years of marriage. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft and was a member of IBEW Local 1. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Cottleville Fire Department for 25 years, 1953-1978. During that time he held the positions of Training Officer for the Junior Fire Department, Secretary Treasurer, Captain and Assistant Chief. Clarence was a life member of the VFW, a member of the Korean Veterans Association – Chapter 6, AMVETS – Post 106, and the American Legion – Post 312. He enjoyed woodworking, painting landscapes, fishing, working Sudoku and most important to him; his family. He is dearly loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.
