Cletus Van Booven

Cletus Leroy Van Booven, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Genevieve Van Booven; cherished son of the late Hugo and Caroline Van Booven; devoted father of Phyllis (the late Bill) Fischer, Cathy Van Booven, Mike (Betty) Van Booven and Keith (Julie) Van Booven; loving grandfather of Caroline Hubble, Steven Fischer, Ryan Van Booven, Jeff Van Booven, Kelly Walsh, Emily Chukwu, Natalie Van Booven, and Kenneth Van Booven; treasured great-grandfather of Jackson and Reagan Hubble, Maggie and Katie Walsh, and Naomi Chukwu; dear brother of Jerome (Alice) Van Booven, the late Alice Hildebrand and the late Dorothy Schroff.

Cletus proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Illinois-Missouri Tractor and Engine Club. In his free time Cletus enjoyed walking, gardening, restoring antique engines and traveling with RVs. Cletus was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cletus’ honor to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Arthritis Foundation.
