Clifford Ray Forbis of Saint Peters, MO, passed away at the age of 64 on Thursday, June 4, 2020. The son of Onnie Forbis and Helen Rinaman, Cliff was born in St. Louis, MO. He moved with his family to Kirksville, MO in 1967. He is a 1973 graduate of Kirksville High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Northeast Missouri State University in 1978.
On May 20, 1978, Cliff married Susan Pinkerton, his high school sweetheart. They then moved to St. Peters, MO, where he began his career in the computer programming industry. He was active in his church, serving as a deacon, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. Music held a special place in his heart. In addition to singing, he was a talented violinist. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hiking, fishing, travelling, and just being outside. He was fond of taking pictures of everything but liked photographing beautiful sceneries and his family in particular.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Josh and Vonda Shoop.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Forbis; his children, Scott Forbis, Nathan (Leann) Forbis, and Leah Forbis; his grandchildren, Holly, Hannah, Penny, and Piper Forbis; his brother, Harold (Lori) Forbis; his sisters-in-law, Lyla (Daniel) Starbuck and Carol (Tom) Daugherty; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Billington, Tim Berry, Sarah (Glen) McIntyre, Andrew (Diana) Starbuck, Michelle (Rob) Durland, Evan Forbis, Aaron (Jessica) Starbuck; several great-nieces-and-nephews, and friends.
Above everything, Cliff treasured the time he spent with his family and deeply cherished the memories they all made together over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
