Clovis W. Vest, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Charlene Belle Vest; devoted son of the late John and Ethyl Vest; loving father of John (Jen) Vest and Mary (Patrick) Pohl; cherished grandfather of John Jr. (Megan), Alaina (Dylan), Charlene "Charley", and Brendan. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lorraine Leigh, Virginia “Jenny” Lee Perkowski, and William Huber Vest.
Clovis proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge. He was a man of strong Baptist faith and served as a Deacon and Sunday School Director. His profession of faith was in 1944 and he was baptized in the “ole Blue Hole” in Dyess, Arkansas. Clovis was a school counselor and history teacher for the Alton School District, St. Charles High School, and Valley High School in Belgrade, MO. He was an alumnus of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee as well as of University of Southern California. He also volunteered at Missouri Baptist Hospital as part of the Pastoral Care Department. He co-facilitated the Day-by-Day Grief Group at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
Clovis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Clovis's name to First Baptist St. Charles, BJC Hospice, or Baptist Grief Center.
